What to expect at a swim meet

  • 6&U, 7-8, 9-10 age groups swim 25s (this means start at one end of the pool and swim to other end). 11-12, 13-14, 15-18 swim 50s (this means start at one end of the pool, swim to the other end, turn and swim back)
  • The last events at meets are 11+up relays so younger swimmers will not be swimming the very last events in the meet. If your swimmer needs to leave the meet by a specific time for some reason, please include that note to the coaches when you RSVP to the meet. We don’t want to schedule your swimmer to swim in an event and have to forfeit that event or have a relay team not able to swim because your swimmer left early.
  • Expect 2 individual events + 1-2 relays (Your child may not always swim 2 relays if there aren’t exact #s in their age group but we try to put all swimmers into at least one relay. We may swim some swimmers up an age group to allow them the chance to swim in a relay as needed. )

Swim meet policies

  • You are responsible for getting your child to and from the bullpen a couple events before they swim. There will be volunteers in the bullpen getting swimmers into position to ensure they don’t miss their events. At home meets, we will call on the loud speaker for certain events to report to the bullpen on the bullhorn/speaker.
  • At home meets (and most away meets), we will be selling concessions accepting cash or venmo. This is a great option for dinner when your swimmer has a break in events. Or feel free to bring a picnic dinner or snacks.
  • Please RSVP to meets by the Monday before each meet. This is VERY important. If you do not RSVP for your child, we assume they are NOT swimming in that meet and they will not be put in the line up. This is so important because RSVPing yes to a meet and then not showing up results in 3 other kids on their relay team not being able to swim and forfeiting events.
